Article marketing is a successful and cost-effective way to promote your business online. Articles will give you a lot of links, including links from article databases with a high PR. They will also give you targeted traffic.
You can expect to have your articles showing up on article sites within a few weeks but the backlinks may take longer.
Google, Yahoo and MSN consider inbound links to a web site to be a primary consideration in their search ranking algorithms. So, each incoming link increases your likelihood of gaining higher placement in the search engine results.
You usually see a big spike in links from articles, then they start to drop off as the months go by and the search engines recognize duplicate content. I suggest a consistent approach. Article Marketer is one of the many article distribution services. It distributes your articles to a large list of article directories. This makes it more than just an article directory--it's actually an online article distribution web site. They have paid services and a free service that allows you to use a limited version of their distribution network.
You submit your article only to one place (articlemarketer) instead of having to submit it to 100+ web sites. And articlemarketer distributes your article(s).
I have been using Article Marketer for 3 years. It has giving me a lot of links and traffic without spendng a lot of time (other than the writing part).. It can work for you too!
Go to Google and search for “qualityebookcovers.com” and “qualityheadertemplates.com” and you’ll see how many links and search engine listings I’ve received for those web sites just by submitting articles to articlemarketer. I submitted 2 articles/week for 2-3 months over a year ago. Then, I didn’t submit any for over a year. A month ago I submitted another 6-7 articles. I am still getting sales from the articles I submitted over a year ago.
My recommendation is to submit 1 article every week. You can schedule the articles. I you have articles ready, you can submit them all at once and indicate in articlemarketer when you want them to go out. That way, you put your article marketing on autopilot.

Some people have trouble with providing the HTML version of their article signature (resource box). If that's the case, there are three options. 1. This is optinional so, you can skip the HTML version and only give them the plain text version. 2. Pput your signature in a web editor and copy the code. 3. ask your web designer for help.
If you have a small amount of articles, there are other places offering article submission at a fixed cost per article. This service is the best for someone who will have a good amount of articles (or several web sites) and wants to submit articles on a regular basis. You should submit articles on a regular basis to get ongoing links and traffic.
Article submission services use automated software. Automated software won't hurt your site. The only drawback is if you don't submit correctly being that it is automated and your articles are not accepted. Manual submission is always better but it doesn’t justify the difference in the time it takes and the fee I have to charge because I do it manually.
The one complaint I've been getting from clients is that at first they may have to make some changes. This is a good thing because Article Marketer tells you what you need to do to be accepted by the article databases. Somethimes it's as simple as providing a minumum lenght of 400 words for your articles. They do this because most article databases require this minimum lenght.
Using an article distribution service saves you a lot of time and it doesn't cost much if you consider how long it would take if you had to do it all yourself, or how much you woulld be someone to submit your articles for you manually.
I’ve researched isnare and people who have used Isnare have had good results as well.
I personally use Article Marketer. I like the way they create accounts in my own name for submissions, which s important for branding.

How it works

The first thing you'll need to do is set up an account. Go to the Article Marketer Web site and click on "Create Account" on the top left of the screen. Click on "Create One Now."

Fill out the author application form and select a level of service.

Read the article submission guidelines.

Input your article information, including the title, description of the article and the article itself.

Type in your author biography, also called About the Author Resource Box.

Select the article categories in which you want your article to be placed. You have up to three selections.

Type in your keywords related to the article you're submitting and the date you want your article distributed.

If you choose a level of service that requires payment, go through the payment process following the prompts.
