Peel away ads are corner flaps at the top of a web page that fold over when your mouse hovers over it.

Peel away ads are a clever form of pop-ups. They grab people's attention and visitors find them less intruisive than drop downs or regular popups. They create intruige without force.
Visitors like them. They find them appealing, enticing, and cool and almost impossible not to have a look. I got a "wow" reaction the first time I saw them and they pique people's interest of what's under there.
Everyone seems to like the peel away ads. Visitors like the non-intrusive nature and dynamic feature of the peel away. They want to see what's in in there.
As with popups when they first came out, I think they will be effective for a period of time and if it becomes wide spread it will lose some of its effectiveness.
Another big advantage of peel away ads is that they can not be blocked as block-up poppers.
Pop-ups have their place but peelaways are visually more inviting.
People report better click through from the peel aways than from regular popovers. You'll need some interesting graphics to go with that page peel to motivate people to click it.
How well they'll convert for you will depend on the quality of the ad copy too when the ad peels back. Great copy, a solid call to action, and a good offer peel away will affect your results.
There are many ways to use peel away ads. Use them to draw attention to a special page on your site, for a special discount, for a list signup, and more.
You'll need some knowledge of editing javascript. And they do offer "Step-by-Step" images to follow along so it's not hard to edit the file even with no expirence of editing pure html/java text files.
